Another name of Himachal Pradesh is Devbhumi (Land of Gods). It is one of twelve administrative districts of Himachal Pradesh state of India. Kinnar is 235 km (146 mi) from the state capital Shimla. It is located on the eastern border of Tibet and in the north-eastern corner of the state of Himachal Pradesh. One of the smallest districts in India.Kinnar has a famous natural rock Shivalinga on the peak of Mount Kailash. It is famous for Kinnar Kailash, a mountain very sacred to Hindus. It is located near the Tibetan border. It has three high mountain ranges, Zanskar, Himalaya and Dhauladhar, which surround the three valleys of Shatdru, Spiti, Baspa and their tributaries. The people here have deep faith and culture, generally, they believe in Buddhism and Hinduism. All the places we will visit on this 12 day tour are Shimla, Sarahan, Sangla, Kalpa and Rampur – Sri Bhima Kali Mandir is a temple located in Sarahan, Himachal Pradesh, India, dedicated to Goddess Bhimakali, the ruler of the rulers of the erstwhile Bushahar state. The temple is located about 180 km from Shimla and is as sacred as 51 Shaktipeeths. Chitkul is a village in Kinnar district of Himachal Pradesh. In winter, the place is mostly covered with snow and the inhabitants migrate to the lower reaches of Himachal. Kalp is a small village in the Sutlej river valley, above Rekong Peo in Kinnar district of Himachal Pradesh, northern India in the Himalayas. Kinnauri is inhabited by people and known for its apple orchards. Apples are a major cash crop for the region. Kalpa has an average elevation of 2,960 meters (9,711 ft). It is located 265 kilometers (165 mi) from Shimla on NH-5 in Kinnaur district. It is located at the base of the Kinnar Kailas snow capped range. The summit of Shivalinga rises up to 20,000 feet (6,000 m). Kalpa is surrounded by apple orchards, pine-nut forests and majestic deodhars.
